Welcome to the world baby Lydia!!

Before I was ever contacted by Sarah, another friend of mine had suggested I look at a local Facebook site because there was a woman looking for a birth photographer in the area. I tried, and just couldn’t find the post so that I could reach out to her. About a month later, I received a message in my inbox from Sarah telling me that she had been given my name for possibly photographing her birth. She said that she had put out a post on that very site, and I knew that us connecting was just meant to be.

As the days grew closer, I checked in with her every day!! Sarah was 2 weeks and 3 days overdue. I know the expecting family was excited to meet their baby daughter, I was excited too! The morning of May 25th, she text at about 6:30 in the morning saying she had started the beginning of labor at about 3 AM. She labored most of the day in her home. She was finally ready to go to the hospital at about 6:30 PM.

Sarah used Hypnobabies during her labor and delivery and she was amazing. I don’t want to say that she wasn’t feeling the pressure, nausea, and pains of labor, because that simply is not true, but she made it look like a breeze. I have never seen a more focused, and strong woman, ever.

She went through her labor for about 1 1/2 hours in the hospital, surrounded by love and great support. She went her entire labor with no pain relief medication. She used peppermint oil for the nausea.  Her husband, Jared, was so very gentle and compassionate with her. You could just feel the love between them as they continued on this journey.

At 8:20 PM, beautiful, and very alert, Lydia made her world debut! She was 7lbs 14oz and was 20 3/4" long.
